Rachael was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of NSW in 2003, the Supreme Court of WA in 2004 and as a Solicitor of the High Court of Australia in 2006.

Following the completion of her formal legal studies, she practiced as a solicitor in Western Australia for 4 years, primarily in the areas of Family Law and Wills and Estates. On returning to NSW in 2007 she joined Gordon Garling Moffitt and now conducts the majority of the firm’s Criminal Law work. In particular, she advises clients in all aspects of criminal, traffic, bail and AVO matters. She regularly appears in Young Local Court in matters ranging from simple mentions, to sentence matters, through to defended hearings. She also advises and assists clients in debt collection matters, focusing on resolving them without resorting to litigation, where possible.

She relishes being an advocate for her clients and enjoys the satisfaction of obtaining the best possible outcome in their matters.

Q & A...

Q. Growing up, is this what you thought you would be doing? If not, what was your dream job as a kid? 

A. As the great grand-daughter, grand-daughter and daughter of lawyers, I was destined to follow in the family business. However, growing up, I fancied myself as a doctor or nurse as my favourite show as a kid was "A Country Practice".

Q. What's a quote to live by?

A. “Great minds discuss ideas. Average minds discuss events. Small minds discuss people.” – Eleanor Roosevelt. “Good things come in small packages.” – my Mum

Q. Favourite sport and team – do you play the sport?

A. I enjoy participating in fun runs and playing netball. The football teams I barrack for are Grenfell Panthers and Sydney Swans.

Q. My favourite tv show to watch?

A. Rake – for lessons in how NOT to conduct yourself as a lawyer

Q. Where would you like to travel to?

A. The Greek Islands. My sister and I vowed we would go together as our 40th birthday presents to ourselves.
