It’s rewarding to help families navigate through often difficult times
Mary-Louise joined Gordon Garling Moffitt as a law clerk in 2000, assisting families navigate through often difficult times with a particular focus on parenting matters. Prior to joining Gordon Garling Moffit, Mary-Louise was working in a child protection role. It was her desire to keep learning that motivated her to study law at Macquarie University and pursue a career as a lawyer.
Since joining Gordon Garling Moffitt, Mary-Louise has continued to specialise in Family Law, but also practices in Employment Law and pre-litigation disputes.

In the community, Mary-Louise is a founding member and undertakes an executive role with Young Community Chest, a not-for-profit fundraising local organisation that assists people in necessitous circumstances. She has also recently been appointed to the Canberra-Goulburn Archdiocese Advisory Panel having been actively involved in local community and church programs to assist people in need.
Outside of law, Mary-Louise has a love for all kinds of animals and highly values spending quality time with her family and friends.
Mary-Louise believes that being able to listen to understand and communicate clearly and respectfully are essential to being a great lawyer. If there was one piece of advice she would give to a young lawyer starting out, it would be, don’t feel like you have to know everything about everything, and always be good to yourself.
